GoPro’s First Drone | The Karma Camera Quadcopter

$799+

After much rumoured speculation and with a slight delay, with the announcement of the Hero5 and Hero5 Session, GoPro also announced their very own Karma Camera Drone.

Designed to be taken with you anywhere, the Karma does deliver.

Essentially, the Karma is an ultra-compact foldable quadcopter. It only weighs 35.5 ounces and comes with a custom-made backpack that is included in the drone’s price.

The Karma features 20 minutes of flight time, a detachable 3-axis stabilizer and an unobstructed view.

Interestingly enough, it offers something that most drones don’t. That feature is that it comes with a detachable three-axis stabilizer. Basically, this allows you to capture ultra-smooth video when either handheld or mounted to a vehicle. This means that no matter what you may be doing, you can always capture smooth video. With or without the drone. Don’t miss the video below.

The Karma controller features intuitive smart controls and a touch screen. The controller scheme makes flight exceptionally easy for the beginner and makes for a smooth experience for the pro.

Furthermore, the Karma drone is exceptionally easy to control. They managed to do this by creating a console style controller that features smart controls and a touch display. The display has a native resolution of 720p and it has a battery life of 4 hours. Another fascinating feature is the fact that when the controller is coupled with the passenger app, a friend can take both photos and videos from their smartphone while you fly.

The Karma comes with a detachable 3-axis stabilizer that allows you to take ultra-smooth videos when handheld or attached to a vehicle.

In addition to all of these features, Karma comes with a unique design that allows for a completely unobstructed view. It also has a replaceable landing gear and delivers extremely quiet flight. It can cruise at a maximum speed of 35 mph and has a range of 1 kilometer (0.62 miles). However, as with most drones, it can only deliver approximately 20 minutes of flight time.
