HOTEL 1898 | BARCELONA

see link

Hotel 1898 is placed in the center of Barcelona, in Las Ramblas Street. This building was first a council seminary, then home of Marquis Comillas, from 1929 it was in possession of Philippines Tobacco Company, and, finally, since 2005 it has been a hotel. So the edifice itself has a long history. The name of the hotel – the year 1898 – was chosen because that is when the British rule over the Philippines ended. While restoring the building, a lot of attention was paid to saving the façade and characteristic style in architecture.

There are 169 colonial-style rooms with safe, minibar, WiFi access, etc. Six types of rooms are available: Classic, Superior, Privilege, Deluxe, JR Suite, and Suite Colonial. Prices range from 165 Euros to over 1,200 Euros per night, depending on how much you plan to enjoy yourself. If you decide to stay in Hotel 1898 you can indulge yourself by going to the spa, (they offer heated pool, sauna and steam room, massages, etc.) getting beauty treatments, exercising in the fitness room, or you can visit the pool positioned on the 7th floor terrace and swim, observe the city and listen to relaxing music. If you are more of a business person, or simply like to read or watch movies – you still don’t need to leave the hotel. The first floor has a library and business center, and there is also a classic cinema.

Hotel 1898 has different offers which you might find interesting: Romantic Pack, Reflexology Pack, Photo Tour Package, Gastronomy Pack, and Colonial Suite.
