Tapas, pintxos, vermouth, Antoni Gaudí, sandy beaches, La Sagrada Familia church, Picasso, the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc… These are all things that you must do / try / taste/ see in “the capital of cool” Barcelona, Spain. Should you decide to visit Barcelona, you will, of course, need accommodation. In keeping with the cool theme of the city, why not stay at the El Palauet Living Barcelona Hotel?
The location and the hotel building are the first things that will amaze you. The El Palauet Hotel is a lovely, classy, elegant boutique hotel, situated on one of the most exclusive streets in Barcelona – Passeig de Gràcia. The El Palauet resembles more a splendid mansion than a hotel. And there is a lot of history that goes with it. It was built in 1906, in Modernisme style (a sort of Catalan Art Nouveau) and designed by Pere Falqués, a contemporary of Antoni Gaudí.
The hotel has only six rooms / suites, and each of them has a designated name like Mezzanine Tibidabo and Ático Paseo de Gracia. Everything in the El Palauet is exclusive – the bed linen is made from Egyptian cotton, the furniture is designed by Warren Platner, Eero Saarinen, Philippe Starck, and Antonio Citterio, the hotel music comes from music from El Palauet Living Barcelona’s own music library, you are given in-house iPad to control lights, air-conditioning and TV, and each suite has a chromotherapy en suite bathroom (if you are wondering what is chromotherapy, it is centuries old medical treatment that uses visible spectrum (colours) of electromagnetic radiation to improve one’s health).
And if that’s not posh enough, the El Palauet will provide you a personal assistant who will get the chef to prepare you whatever you want for breakfast, organize your meals, take you shopping, find you a masseuse, a make-up artist, a hairdresser, a personal trainer, a car to rent or a babysitter for your child.
The only ‘problem’ that we see with the hotel is that you might not want to leave. watch video below
