WHITEPOD HOTEL IN SWITZERLAND

Whitepod Hotel is a luxury eco hotel from Switzerland located in the Swiss Alps that successfully combined the two things from the title. It is a collection of 15 pods placed 1,400 meters above the sea level, which enable you to enjoy the view of the stunningly beautiful Alps, but still pack the luxury that high class visitors might require.

Each pod covers the area of 40 square meters and includes beds and other furniture, toilet and showers. They also feature large windows at the entrance that are facing the valley, making sure you can steal a glimpse of the snowy mountain tops from any of the pods. There is a special additional pod that faces Lake Geneva.

All pods are placed on large wooden platforms serving partially as terraces with chairs and tables. The insulation is one of the most important things when it comes to living in the Swiss Alps, and the pods have high quality insulation. Additional help, when it comes to heating, comes from traditional wood burning stoves that every pod is equipped with. The lighting comes from lovely lanterns. Up to four people can sleep in a single pod.

The appearance of the pods changes depending on the season, since the pods are only white in winter and green during the summer, depending on the color of the canvas it is covered with, in order to blend inconspicuously with the landscape.

Among the pods, the guests can see a chalet that features a spa, sauna and a dining area. Next to the pods, there’s a restaurant, but you can also dine in the pods.

There are also numerous activities you can enjoy. They organize various hikes and dog sledding trips, both of which can be with or without a guide. One of the most adventurous activities is hang gliding that lasts about 45 minutes. Another perk is skiing. There are two private ski lifts and 7km of ski slopes reserved just for the guests.

Whitepod is an extremely environmentally conscious construction. The number of guests is limited in order to minimize the effect they might generate, waste is recycled and the pods were built using local and recycled materials.
