PIRELLI – THE CALENDAR: 50 YEARS AND MORE

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of the Pirelli Calendar, a notoriously exclusive calendar reserved for VIPs, which features images of the most beautiful women in the world. The 50th anniversary served as a good reason to make a compilation of all previous editions under the title Pirelli – The Calendar: 50 Years and More. The first issue was published in 1964 and in the last 50 years the names of the models and photographers who have participated in making the Pirelli Calendar has grown. Models and actresses like Alessandra Ambrosio, Naomi Campbell, Laetitia Casta, Cindy Crawford, Penélope Cruz, Milla Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Angela Lindvall, Sophia Loren and Adriana Lima have all graced us with their presence on the pages of this legendary calendar.

However, a simple compilation would not be all that great which is why TASCHEN included a lot of additional, previously unseen, material in this retrospective volume. Rare photos and behind-the-scenes photos have been included for all would be collectors and even the unpublished 1963 edition has been included. What more could you wish for? Well, we are not sure, but there are a few more nice additions to this volume. A lot of photos which were considered by the editors too risky to be published at the time are also included in Pirelli – The Calendar: 50 Years and More.
