1 – Scribner’s Catskill Lodge, USA

 

 

The first destination is located in upstate New York, in the Catskill Mountains. The Scribner’s Catskill Lodge is a mountain getaway with 38 rooms that range from 250 to 600 square feet. Each room is decorated with a modern lodge in mind – a mixture of clean, contemporary and warm elements, with dark wooden floors, floor to ceiling windows and custom-made furniture. Rooms are also equipped with fireplaces, private terraces and locally sourced bathroom products. The region itself is a luxury retreat, perfect for adventurers seeking to explore nature but also local cuisine, culture, and art. Besides the room, the property includes a whiskey lounge, dining room, restaurant, library, lawn, and meadow.

2 – Chetzeron Hotel, Switzerland

 

 

What used to be a gondola station now serves as a hotel and restaurant- perfect winter destination. It is located 2,112 meters above sea level and can be only accessed by a snowmobile, ski or by foot. As for the rooms, you’ll find 16 deluxe suites and rooms, all with large windows, sofa beds and amazing bathroom and bedroom views. The interior features many wooden elements while the exterior of the Chetzeron is covered in natural stone. Communal areas include a ski bar, restaurant, and lobby with comfortable furniture.

3 – Kazbegi Hotel, Georgia

 

 

Kazbegi Hotel is located in the Caucasus Mountain Range in northern Georgia. This retreat has a capacity of 155 guestrooms and offers many outdoor activities. Both the rooms and the exterior of the hotel use wood, steel, and brick in order to provide the guests with a rustic charm and peaceful atmosphere. The exterior features a combination of a Communist Brutalist architecture with the influence of modern Nordic mountain design. The hotel offers fantastic views of the snowy mountain peaks and natural landscapes surrounding the location.

4 – Kimamaya Boutique Hotel, Japan

 

 

This hotel is just the perfect amount of warmth and comfort you need after spending the day on the snowy slopes. It’s designed as a mountain lodge and located in one of Japan’s most popular ski resorts, Niseko. Besides in winter, the area is interesting in other seasons as it is surrounded by a number of biking trails that go through the pine forest. You can stay in one of nine bedrooms, ranging from 17 to 36 square meters. The architecture of the Kimamaya hotel draws inspiration from the Japanese Zen design but also Norwegian style, thanks to the influence of Nicolas Gontard (of the Odin brand) and his Nordic partners. Besides the nine rooms, guests can relax next to a fireplace in the living lounge.

5 – Hotel Bachmair Weissach, Germany

 

 

Germany is well known for its alpine landscapes and mountain resorts. Hotel Bachmair Weissach is located near Munich and is built next to Lake Tegernsee in 1862. Thanks to its several buildings surrounding it, it gives off a feeling you’re staying in a private country club. This Bavarian complex offers 141 rooms and suites, covering everything from a 25-square-meter room to a 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom suite of 200-square-meters. Both the interior and exterior give homage to classical Bavarian style with details like pine ceilings, candle lights, fresh flowers, velvet chairs, and fireplaces.

6 – Hotel Zhero- Ischgl/Kappl, Austria

 

 

The last hotel in this winter destination suggestions is located in Austria and is all modern. We’re talking about custom-made designer furnishings and dark interiors, a combination of exposed brick and colder tones. Guests at Hotel Zhero stay in 79 rooms and suites, eat in the kitchen of chef Klaus Brunmayr and enjoy the perks of having private butlers (if you choose one of four Penthouse Suites). As for the winter activities, just nearby you’ll find ski slopes. To be more precise, there are 42 kilometers of pistes and the Kappl resort nearby provides ten ascent aids that can get you to 2690 meters altitude.
