THE WHISKEY WEDGE
Any true whiskey connoisseur will tell you that you should never, ever water down your Jameson because the flavor and texture tend to degrade when diluted. But if you really love your spirits chilled, you will have to settle with the trade-off liquor on the traditional rocks or use one of the many drink coolers available on the market, like the well-known Balls of Steel and the like. Well, today we bring you a piece of great news: you don’t actually have to compromise on quality over temperature in your most-loved alcohols any more – Whiskey Wedge from Corkcicle helps preserve the unique taste and heady note of your favorite spirits when chilled, without corrupting the aroma by the quick meltdown of ice cubes.
Available at the price of as few as $14.95, each Whiskey Wedge set includes a special Double-Old Fashioned Whiskey Glass and one silicone mold. All you have to do to get your Scotch ideally chilled is place the silicone mould over the top of the glass, pour water through the fill hole up to the marked line and leave the kit flat in your freezer for around four hours. As the water freezes, it shapes a unique glacier-esque wedge along the side of the glass, and it’s ready to use as soon as you take out the silicone form. Thanks to the reduced surface area that comes in contact with the drink, the ice wedge in the glass will reportedly melt more slowly than regular ice cubes, cooling your favorite alcohol without diluting it needlessly.
Measuring 4 x 3 x 3 inches (H x W x D), the 1-1/2-ounce Whiskey Wedge kit can be used for whiskey, scotch, bourbon, brandy or tequila. The first deliveries are expected in early November, so follow the link to order your new liquor-cooling set and enjoy the true taste of your favorite spirits all year round as soon as your Wedge arrives. Cheers, mate!
