VERRADO ELECTRIC TRIKE

$1560

Drift Triking is currently one of the rapidly growing sports worldwide, and is seems to be catching on pretty quickly as innovators and designers are coming up with more and more cutting-edge vehicle ideas every day. One of the latest products in the big-wheel industry is the Verrado Electric Drift Trike by the Arizona-based Local Motors. The main aim of the engineering team was to make drifting possible even on flat ground and make the sport, originally meant for hilly regions, available on other surfaces like asphalt. With its original design and sturdy construction, the Verrado Electric Drift Trike lets you drift on flat ground and ride almost any surface with ultimate control.

The engineers at Local Motors experimented with a hub motor and battery pack from one of the electric bicycle prototypes and came up with the first versions of an electric-powered drift trike. After lots of hard work and testing, they have managed to produce an electric-powered drifting tricycle which combines a BMX fork with a twenty-inch heavy-duty front wheel with aluminum casting around the brushless hub motors, two rear karting wheels lined with PVC pipe, a strong disc brake and a sturdy programmable electric motor.

Thanks to its powerful MagicPie 3-hub brushless motor, the Verrado Drift Trike guarantees ultimate control on almost any kind of surface and the two five-inch steel rear wheels fitted with ten-inch karting tires, topped with almost an inch thick PVC wheel sleeves, make drifting as easy as it can be, regardless of whether you’re on a flat surface or a hillside. The durable high-quality disc brakes with regenerative braking allow you to stop whenever you need it, and the front wheel features textured custom pegs for extra traction and stability.

The Verrado motor employs regenerative braking, making the Verrado one of the safest production drift trikes currently available on the market. The trike’s steel chassis is made in the Local Motors Phoenix Microfactory and it is fitted with a cushioned seat for maximum comfort even when riding for extended periods of time. The Verrado steel frame is powder-coated in either black, white, red or silver, giving the trike a professional finish.

The Verrado Electric Drift Trike runs on a Lithium Cobalt Manganese battery and the company claims that their trike can be charged in around three hours with each charge providing 12 miles or some 45 minutes worth of riding, though the duration and mileage depend heavily on the amount of drifting.

The company is looking to raise funds for a few ‘final’ steps necessary to take the trike to market, such as refining the brake caliper mounting system, finalizing the rear axle attachment and battery mounting method and completing the wire routing and the harness design. So, be a pall and contribute by purchasing one of their latest products. The Verrado Drift Trike will certainly deliver a unique and impressive trike riding experience to thrill even the most adrenaline-obsessed of motor-keen daredevils. watch video below
