VELAA | PRIVATE ISLAND RESORT IN THE MALDIVES
Velaa is a new private island resort in the Maldives, created by Radka and Jiří Šmejc, a Czech businessman. They put a lot of money and effort into this project, so this little paradise island is now turned into the most expensive resort in the country, with the price of $30,000 per night.
Velaa resort consists of five residences with 4 beds each and 43 private villas. Every villa has its own private pool, a butler, and it is equipped with everything necessary for visitors to feel comfortable and enjoy the luxury. Apart from that, Velaa possesses the largest wine cellar in the Maldives, whose collection is worth more than one million dollars.
In case the fortunate visitors want to leave their accommodation for a while and spend some time in the open sea, they have the possibility of using the resort’s exclusive yacht, where they will be served by the finest chefs. Talking about chefs, Velaa’s culinary menus are created by the renowned Michelin’s chef, Adeline Grattard.
Velaa Private Island is named after sea turtles, which have inhabited the island for generations. The entire resort is designed in the traditional spirit of the Maldives, reflecting the culture and landscape. So, despite all the invested money and luxury which it offers, this magical place looks very elegant, without the excessive shine and tasteless details.
But, maybe we should point out that it also includes a golf academy, which was designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, a Spanish professional golfer, and the Teppanyaki restaurant which stands in a tower, 37ft above the ground. watch the video below
