Vamizi Island Resort is the luxurious resort on the northernmost island in the Quirimbas Archipelago on the Mozambique’s northern coast. It’s located on a 7 kilometer long private white sand beach, surrounded by rainforest. Even though this resort is a part of a conservational project, that fact does not diminish all the beauty and luxury it offers.
Vamizi Island lodge contains 13 one or two bedroom villas (including two family villas), made of palm leaf, scattered all over the long paradise-like beach. Covering the area of 175 square meters, these vast and luxurious cabins all have balconies, bedrooms with four poster beds, large bathrooms and open lounge areas. The houses are designed in Arab-influenced East-African style, with the presence of iron lanterns and wood handcrafted carvings.
Vamizi’s accommodations are not equipped with TVs and air-conditioning; its luxury reflects in full privacy, serenity and possibility to enjoy the perfect nature while spending time in the most beautiful resort on the East-African coast. Apart from that, the polite staff of Vamizi is at your disposal, whether you need spa services, such as reiki and shiatsu therapies, Indian, Swedish and aroma-therapy massages, yoga or beauty treatments.
For the lovers of some more dynamic activities, Vamizi offers deep-sea fishing, whale watching expeditions, snorkeling trips, castaway picnics and much more. We should also not forget about the chance of running into a monkey somewhere along the way.
While relaxing at the Vamizi Resort, you will not be deprived of the excellent food, since the chef is trained by Jamie Oliver, and the restaurants are truly amazing, serving excellent tropical dishes and seafood. During the day the guests can use the eatery in the main lodge and cocktails at the bar, while in the evenings, grills by the beach are an excellent option. During the winter season, the Muntu Nkulu restaurant is open on the south side of the island.
Even though Vamizi Island is malaria-free, it is recommended that visitors should have medical and evacuation insurance. Also, they should consult their doctors about a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
The temperatures on the island do not go below 21 degrees Celsius in July to September, and don’t exceed 30 degrees Celsius in October to April, so we could easily say that the weather on the island is perfect, as well as everything else regarding this tamed piece of Africa.
