If you’re one of those guys who enjoy both cycling and camping, then it’s high time you combine these two very beneficial activities. At some point in time while cycling, you must have stopped and realized that you have come across the perfect camping spot. And because you were there with nothing but your bike gear, you were unable to use that spot. This is precisely why the Topeak Bikamper Tent will prove to be useful. This amazing one-person tent is geared towards cyclists because it utilizes the bike as its main support. So, the next time you go for a ride through the woods, this compact tent should find its place among your regular gear.
Features of the Topeak Bikamper Tent
The Topeak Bikamper Tent is one sturdy tent. Made from water-resistant urethane coated 45D ripstop nylon, this tent will be able to withstand bad weather conditions without a problem. In case the weather turns really sour, there is always the fully waterproof 70D ripstop nylon rainfly at your disposal. This tent is large enough to fit one person, but this shouldn’t be taken against it as you can pack it down to a 10.2″ x 5.5″ bundle, which weighs only 3.59 lbs. Strap it on your bike and its small size and light weight will not get in the way of your ride.
How to Set it up
The setup process is really simple. First you need to remove the front wheel of your bike (and make sure that your front wheel is either a 26″, 27.5″, 29″ mountain or 700c road front wheel). Your front wheel and handlebars will be used as the frames of the front and back side of the tent. You need to insert the wheel into the back side and simply hook the front to the handle bars. All what’s left to do is secure the tent by pinning it down and that’s it. Your one-person tent is ready for a night in the outdoors.
Although this tent isn’t as spacious as some tents, it can still be a very useful piece of gear thanks to its simple setup and compact pack down size. And if you’re thinking of going on a cross-country bicycle ride, this tent would be the perfect choice for that feat.
