TIME MACHINE WALL CLOCK | BY DANIEL DUARTE

Daniel Duarte, a designer from Portugal, came up with this surprisingly simple, yet enchanting idea. At first look, you would hardly consider this a clock, but it is a fully functional time teller.

As we have said, the idea is fairly simple. It is based on the repeating superimposition of two layers of bars rotating as the time passes and creating different geometric patterns that transform the face of the clock. Just two of the bars are subtly marked using different colored tips and they represent the “hands” of this extraordinary wall clock – the orange tipped one shows minutes, while the yellow one shows hours.

Even though the Time Machine Wall Clock is not likely to be called a colorful product, the ever-changing patterns should be more than enough to keep everyone interested, while additional ornaments might prove to be a bit too much. In my opinion, this clock is perfect just the way it is.
