SQUARE CASH | FREE SERVICE TO SEND/RECEIVE MONEY WITH EMAIL

In this modern day and age, you can send money in very creative and swift ways. The latest one is using e-mail as a cash carrier. The idea is called Square Cash, a free of charge service which allows you to email money from your debit card to whomever you like. And you don’t need complicated passwords, login information, or equipment to do this – just an email account.

Square Cash is a person-to-person money transfer service provided by Square Inc., a company run by co-founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey. Square Inc has become a hugely successful enterprise thanks to its mobile payment applications and it currently has over 500 employees (not a single sales person among them, interestingly enough).

How does Square Cash work? First of all, you will need to know that you can send up to $2,500 a week via Square Cash, and this can be done in one or several transactions. Currently, the service is only available in the U.S. and only for Visa or MasterCard debit card holders.

What you do is compose a regular email by putting the recipient’s email address in the ‘To’ field. In the ‘CC’ field you have to enter ‘cash@square.com’, and in the subject field you simply put the amount you are transferring from yours to the recipient’s debit card. And press ‘Send’. The recipient will be notified of the received money with an email, and the money should arrive in a day or two the most. Simple as that!

You should note, though, that Square Inc has no limit on your liability from fraud and only agrees to reverse your transaction, but not to pay you back in the case of fraudulent dealings. watch video below
