SIDEWINDING CIRCULAR SKATES | BY HAMMACHER SCHLEMMER

$99.95

The Sidewinding Circular Skates are unlike other skateboards or skates for that matter. Using two independent wheels with platforms for your feet placed in each of them, you can move simply just by leaning to one side. Even though there are skateboards which have moved away from the “push to propel” idea by adding motors in them, it’s good to know that you don’t need a motor to make a new and fun means of transportation.

The Sidewinding Circular Skates

Use serpentine motion to move around in these skates

The Sidewinding Circular Skates allow its users to perform movements which regular skateboards are not capable of, thanks to the fact that the wheels are not connected. You can easily perform 720° spins, a feat made easy by these skates. These skates are far sturdier than they look as they can support a weight of 200 lbs. As the rubber wheels of these skates are about 10″ in diameter, you can easily traverse grassy and dirt terrain. Although the serpentine motion seems pretty easy to perform in order to move in these skates, some might have issues learning it.

The Sidewinding Circular Skates for beginners

Beginners will find it easy to use these skates thanks to the removable rod

However, the guys at Hammacher Schlemmer have given thought to this learning curve issue and decided to put in a removable rod which connects the two wheels until you learn how to ride the skates properly. If you are worried about stopping while riding one of these, don’t be. Just simply put your toes on the ground and the skates will stop from moving. Currently, The Sidewinding Circular Skates are available in two colors: red and green.
