Selgas Cano Offices is one of the most astonishing ideas for offices ever. Apart from being distinctive and great looking, it is also very practical. The design has generated some mixed reviews, but the employees are sure to love working in this place.
Selgas Cano is an architecture firm from Spain, and their newest offices are placed in Madrid. The main idea is fairly simple. The structure is, basically, a simple tube placed into the ground with a large window that stretches alongside the entire side of the tube. The window continues into the part of the ceiling, making this office half made of glass, which provides the working space with a plethora of daylight. The practicality of submerging the offices halfway into the ground can be seen when we take into consideration the scorching summer temperatures in Madrid. The ground provides perfect heat insulation, thus eliminating any need for air conditioning, and use of smooth lines and bright colors turns this space into an inspiring and motivating environment. The colors do not seem very natural, with white and bright yellow prevailing, but they provide perfect contrast with the surrounding area, while still using natural materials. All these things combined make Selgas Cano Offices in Madrid seem like a perfect nature hideaway that inspires creativity, rather than a dull workplace.
The offices, though being in a city as large as Madrid, are surrounded by trees, and the employees can access it via wooden walkways that stretch through the trees. Another amazing feature of this workplace is its night looks. Bright lights inside the offices emphasize their nature and create an unforgettable visual effect.
