If you don’t remember, we once wrote about the SeaVees shoe collection created to bring back the 1960s California cool. All the shoes found are very stylish, inspired by the vintage aesthetic and designed with a modern touch. Another pair worth of mention with a similar look is the SeaVees Mariner Boot.
These cool sneaker boots are made in collaboration with Taylor Stitch, a brand we also covered here at jebiga. They are crafted out of 15 oz genuine British Ventile duck canvas. The canvas is durable and waterproof so you’ll own it for more than a season. The lining features 6 oz washed cotton canvas.
The upper is not the only durable part of the boot. Thanks to a natural gum rubber sole, SeaVees Mariner Boots will provide you with the necessary stability, especially if you wear them on a slippery deck. The sole also features a Herringbone Grip Lock design.
As for the design, this model is inspired by “coral creepers” that were worn by Navy sea cadets. The water resistant gusseted tongue is paired with antique brass eyelets and a technical nylon lace. Also, the webbed nylon backstay comes with a pull tab, for getting them on and off easily. Getting the right size of sneakers can always be tricky. This pair is true to size, so you should take your normal shoe size. SeaVees Mariner Boot comes in two colors – olive and peacoat navy.
