ROOBO BeanQ Robot Wins Red Dot Award 2017


We are witnessing the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence, especially systems in the field of products and services. ROOBO is a Chinese company founded in 2014 with the idea to develop intelligent consumer robots. Their latest project, the ‘BeanQ’, just beat 60 other countries in the ‘best of the best’ honor at the Red Dot Award 2017.

BeanQ is a robot that helps in children’s education. It has a ‘cute’ design and comes in vivid colors. Of course, the main feature is the AI crafted to provide different resources for children of different ages. It comes with accurate voice interaction, rich touch interaction and anthropomorphic emotional system.

BeanQ is a robot created to help children of different age with education, for example, learning English.

This family friendly pet robot has its own personality and several sensors that allow it to react when touched. The unique communication technology makes it intelligent to interact with. It comes with a big screen that can be used for video chatting.

Designboom talked with a senior design director of ROOBO, Feizi Ye about the project and the award. He stated that:
