Recently, Land Rover announced that after many great years they are going to stop the production of probably one of the best 4×4 car ever made – The Land Rover Defender. Overfinch, the original Land Rover enhancer decided to create a special and very limited edition of the Land Rover Defender to honor this legendary model and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Overfinch company.
Unfortunately, this special edition will only feature 5 cars, so it’s fair to say that it will be very hard to get a hold of one of them. The special edition will have Overfinch’s recognizable exterior that will include some modern features such as an in-built LED light located on the front bumper. The entire vehicle is beautifully designed. It’s colored with elegant black paint with subtle gray details that give this car a real distinguished look.
This special car is going to be the combination of luxury, timeless style and 4×4 transmission. Regarding the wheels, the car is equipped with 18-inch Apollo alloy rings. To make this vehicle more special, people from Overfinch made a set of unique Recaro racing leather seats with “40th anniversary” markings. When it comes to the engine, this car is powered by a 2.2 liter, four-cylinder diesel engine. The 6-speed manual transmission will take care of any sort of rugged terrain out there and will be efficient on fuel on highways. It’s estimated that the Overfinch Defender is going to cost somewhere around $101,440 (£69,990).
The making of this car is in a way a bittersweet moment in the automobile history. The sad part is the fact that this special vehicle is announcing the end of a 68-year-long production of the iconic Land Rover Defender. On the other hand, the sweet part is that this limited edition is marking the 40th anniversary of the great Overfinch company. So, in the end, this is a truly wonderful and memorable occasion for the automobile world. (via)
