OPTRIX XD5 | WATERPROOF ACTION CAMERA IPHONE CASE

Optrix released their Optrix XD5 case for the users of the new iPhone 5 that wish to use their phone’s camera for recording various action adventures. Granted, there are numerous action cameras out there on the market – we have presented the GoPro Hero3+ that does the job perfectly – but not everyone likes to pile up their gadgets when the ones they already have suffice.

This is where the Optrix XD comes in handy. Users of the iPhone 4 have already had the chance to use their phones as action cameras with the previous model, the Optrix XD4. The XD 5 does the same thing for the iPhone 5. It is fitted around your beloved phone in a way that it protects it from dirt, water and ‘crushes’, but still allows you to use its various functions.

The case is lighter than its predecessor, but still more powerful. It also features an opening that allows access to the connector and headphone jack, meaning that you can charge, use headphones and even speak on the phone while performing wildest stunts.

The iPhone 5 offers already fantastic 1080p HD videos, but the Optrix XD5 enhances the quality by providing an all-glass, three element, wide-angle lens.

During action sports you will rarely have time to hold your iPhone, so a reliable mounting system is a must and the XD5 has one that enables the case to be mounted securely to just about any rail.

When it comes to safety, it’s good to know that it survives a drop test up to a height of 30 ft and that it’s waterproof up to the depths of 15 ft.
