OLO | World’s First Smartphone 3D Printer

$99+

3D printers have gained a massive amount of popularity in recent years but they are usually cumbersome and cost anywhere from hundreds of dollars to a few thousand. We’ve been waiting for a cheaper model to come out and OLO is just that. This is the world’s first 3D printer that works with your smartphone. Believe it or not, this box, that only costs $99, uses the light from your smartphone to actually print.

OLO supports any phone model, even larger screens such as the Samsung Galaxy A7 or the iPhone 6 S+; as well as Android, iOS and Windows phone platforms. Essentially, if you have a smartphone, you can print. The device measures in at 6.8 x 4.5 x 5.8 inches which gives you an impressive print space volume of 400 cmᶟ (24.40 inᶟ).

OLO is a 3D printer that uses your smartphone to print.

You simply choose what you want to print via the OLO application, be it designs that have been shared over social media, or designs of your own that you have created via any 3D software of your choosing; including Autodesk 123D catch. Place OLO over your smartphone, fill with the specialized ‘Daylight Resin’ that uses light to harden, and wait. OLO has a resolution of 32 microns and can print an inch of material in about 1 hour with an iPhone 6.
