If you are one of those people who got themselves the latest MacBook and were dumbfounded by the single USB-C port then we are going to present you with the perfect solution for the problem caused by this “feature”. Most of you probably had a ton of issues as you could not connect your monitors and other devices to your new MacBook. Nonda, a smart hardware company based in Palo Alto, has heard the cries of many and decided to do something about it. They designed the Hub+, a USB-C hub for the new MacBook, and in turn solved all of the inconvenience caused by the only port available. Once again, Apple has let other companies solve these issue with their innovative products.
Honestly, the amount of ports and features put into the Hub+ makes every other port seem underwhelming. The Hub+ is equipped with two USB-C ports, three USB-A 3.0 ports/charging ports, an SDXC card reader and a mini display port which supports mDP 1.2 video output and 4k displays at 60Hz refresh rate. All you have to do is use the USB-C to USB C cable to hook it up to your MacBook and all your troubles are gone. Don’t worry, you will still be able to charge your MacBook thanks to its USB-C ports.
But this is not the end of what the Hub+ has to offer. It was outfitted with a lithium ion battery which allows you to use it as a powerbank to charge any phone. It just keeps getting better and better. As it is a powerbank in addition to being a USB station, the Hub+ was made to be quite small so you could take it anywhere with you. It measures 4.3 x 1.5 x 0.3 inches and weighs only 3.5 ounces.
This amazing USB station is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter and, because so many people expressed interest in this idea, Nonda has met their initial goal quickly. You can rest assured that you will receive your very own Hub+ in time if you’ve made a pledge already. If not, a single Hub+ can be yours for $79 in Nonda’s early bird special package. However, if you are willing to pledge more than that, Nonda has even more to offer. You can receive a mini USB-A 3.0 to USB-C adapter and even a mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. [via]
