MINI COOPER SD
The latest engine option in the Mini Cooper lineup is recognizable under the name Mini Cooper SD and it packs a new twin-turbo diesel engine which is another reminder that the engineers who design petrol engines will have to try harder.
The Mini Cooper SD has a 2l, four-cylinder engine that produces 170hp that pull the car to 62mph in just 7.2 seconds. Add to this the fact that it also has 360Nm of torque from 1,500rpm and it becomes the most potent diesel in a Mini ever. The latest diesel engine technologies offer another perk. Even though the performance is stunning, the fuel consumption is also amazing. The factory claims that it is close to 58mpg US.
But, this is still not all. Being a part of the SD sport variant, the latest Mini also boasts such features as the Start/Stop system and brake energy regeneration.
When it comes to its design, the new Mini Cooper SD continues the proud tradition. It is very similar to the previous retro-styled models with some additional sporty features such as large fog lights, 17” wheels, prominent hood scoop and centrally placed paired tailpipes. What is still the same are the twin white stripes and the optional racing green paint.
If you are after this kind of a car, this wonderful blend of great retro styling and innovative technologies makes the Mini Cooper SD a perfect choice. Look no further.
