If you asked several people to describe their perfect winter wonderland, we bet that majority of them would say “sitting by the open fireplace, in an epic log home, sipping hot tea or coffee and relaxing after a day spent skiing or just enjoying snow”. To help you with your daydreaming, here is one of the most epic log homes that we sincerely wish you get to spend a few days in. It’s is located in Loveland, Colorado, and surrounded by stunning Rocky Mountains. The Loveland cabin has been designed by architect Kathy Scott from Walker & Warner Architects and spans 10,000 square feet.
At first glance, the cabin looks like a winter castle, sitting peacefully in beautiful surroundings. The cabin’s placement is almost perfect since it provides 360° views of the rocky landscape and the mountain pond. The entrance to Loveland Colorado cabin is quite majestic, comprising of two huge tree trunks with preserved roots and a stylish doorway. The cabin’s exterior is entirely made from logs, the windows are clad in copper and there is a classic slate roof.
Inside the cabin, there is a majestic winding staircase that connects different parts of the house. The wood used to make kitchen provides a wonderful contrast to its dark counters, while the bar in the next room invites you to chill out, talk, drink and entertain. The design of the dining room is similar to that of the kitchen, with impressive luxury furnishing and lighting fixtures.
This opulent two-storey log cabin has five bedrooms, a kitchen, an outdoor living room which rests on heating deck and a spacious garage that can take up to four cars. The Loveland Colorado cabin was commissioned by Gunter Preuss, the owner of Genesis Innnovations Company that actually crafted the house’s beautiful staircase, the kitchen, and the living room.
The Loveland cabin will completely overwhelm you with its beauty and elegance. It feels comfortable, cozy, warm and luxurious while, at the same time, being the ultimate winter residence. To quote Wall Street Journal: “The cabin is so large, so luxe and so loaded with amenities that Daniel Boone would hardly know where to hang his coonskin hat.” [via]
