The Black Pack and Silver Pack are two new optional packages for the Land Rover Defender that will be presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in less than two weeks. Aside from very elegant and great looking color options, you will also get the contrast leather premium seats, privacy glass, aluminum finish on the side runners and ebony headliner as standard, while UK and EU buyers also get the Dynamic Stability Control and ABS as standard.
The Black Pack includes the Santorini black finish on the grille, grille surround, roof, wheel arches, hood script, interior accents and the space around the headlamps. It also includes two different wheel options, the first one being gloss black Sawtooth alloy and the second one being gloss black heavy duty.
The Silver Pack is reserved for brighter colors and it includes bright Indus silver finish on the roof, grille and its surround, area around the headlights and side runners. The wheel arches were left intact in this version. You will also get the standard Dual Finish alloy wheels and white indicator and tail lights.
The contrast premium leather seats we mentioned include three options of color mixtures: Ebony/Pimento, Ebony/Tan or Ebony/Lunar. These can be used on the back seats as well if desired.
Another color option, called the Yulong White will be available on the 2015 Defender model.
Having all this in mind, we have to say that the Land Rover Defender is becoming more and more design oriented while still keeping the reputation of a rugged all-terrain vehicle. And those design and color features fit the picture perfectly so long time fans will only welcome them, rather than feel betrayed as is usually the case when an old legend – which the Defender definitely is – is subjected to modern revamps. A great car is still great and it just looks better. Well done, Land Rover.
