The Kammok Glider is a new portable lightweight shelter by the outdoor lifestyle brand Kammok. Every Kammok’s artifact is inspired by nature, and so is the Glider. Its looks, as well as the name, is reminiscent of wings of a small animal, called Sugar Glider.
This invention has an integrated rain retention system and it’s made of materials which reflect heat. The system for water retention works using flexible water bottles, attached to the end of each foot, in which the water slides through the patent-pending water bottle connectors. The system is protected from overflowing with grommets, which, when the bottles are full, direct the water outside.
The wings of a Sugar Glider are strengthened with catenary curves, which gave Kammok the idea to place 6 catenary curves in the Glider and that way make the rain gutters, which are easily adjustable, thanks to two ropes, placed on the center of each panel and four buckle suspensions.
Besides the excellent idea, concerning the water collecting, Kammok also showed its reliability choosing the material of which the Glider is made. They used extremely strong fiber, the Amphibiskin, tempered with silicone, which makes the Glider waterproof and heat reflective.
Although very thin and light, the quality of the Amphibiskin is so high, that, being inside of the Glider, you are absolutely protected from high temperatures and sheltered from any shower or storm (rain or snow).
Thanks to its design, material and low weight, this product is very innovative, practical and suitable for every adventurer. It can be used as an emergency shelter, a beach tent and of course a weather shelter.
