In the village of Oia, Santorini, on the edges of the caldera cliffs the Ikies Traditional Houses are located. It’s a very special kind of a hotel, due to its location, small size and various amenities which it offers to the fortunate visitors.
With their whitewashed domed roofs and deep blue doors and shutters, Ikies Traditional Houses from the outside may look pretty simple, but that certainly does not diminish their minimalistic beauty.
This complex is a well-known honeymoon destination and romantic getaway. In case you decide to spend very romantic couple of days at Ikies, the friendly staff which is at your disposal all the time will provide you with a honeymoon suite with intimate and discrete service, even including champagne breakfasts, rose petals on your bed, fresh flowers, candles, sunset cocktails and wine.
The accommodation at Ikies consists of only 11 rooms and is ranked in such a way that visitors can choose a suite according to their needs and possibilities. The studios are one-bedroom apartments, the cottages have a loft with a bedroom which looks down on the living area, the suites are the largest houses, which include vast terraces and luxury services, while Honeymoon Suites, Superior Studios and Superior Suites have a private Jacuzzi on their terrace. Each house has air conditioning, flat screen satellite TV, movie box, a safety deposit box, hairdryer, iPhone docking station, slippers and bathrobes.
On the lowest level there is a small pool, close to the entrance there is a parking lot and on the highest level there is a reception area. All in all, we come to a conclusion that Ikies Traditional Houses are the true combination of traditional and modern, blending local materials and colors with the modern amenities that any high luxury hotel should offer.
Although you might think that Ikies can offer you anything you need to feel relaxed and truly enjoy yourself, being positioned highly on the caldera cliffs, this destination is not suitable for people with moving disabilities and small children. However, if you are eager to spend some romantic time with your loved one, this is a perfect place to go and enjoy a wonderful view of the well-known Santorini sunset from the magnificent cliffs above.
About Santorini: Santorini is a Greek island in southern Aegean Sea. It belongs to the Cyclades archipelago, and the capital city is Fira. This island is famous around the world for its caldera- the cliffs formed by a powerful volcanic eruption which occurred about 3,000 years ago.
Apart from Santorini’s volcanic landscape, what makes this island so unusual is the stunning contrast made by the combination of its red and black cliffs and villages with white-colored houses. watch video below
