Gotenna Mesh on top of a tablet

The goTenna Mesh wirelessly via Bluetooth-LE (Low Energy). It saves your smartphone’s battery and can work in airplane mode.

The goTenna Mesh allows you to send text messages and even GPS locations on offline maps with other goTenna users. It also gives you the option of chatting in private 1 – to – 1 conversations, in groups, or you can even broadcast a message to surrounding users. To make this device even more impressive, it boasts a range of 3 miles (4.8 km) in open terrain and up to a mile (1.6 km) in congested terrain. However, that’s not all, or its maximum range. Check out the demo meshing video below.

goTenna Mesh function

The Mesh function allows the goTenna Mesh’s range to be extended since you can relay messages privately between other goTenna users to get to your desired recipient. Even if there is no point-to-point range.

Meshing, through the world’s first mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) protocol, allows you to relay messages privately through other goTenna users to reach a contact that is out of point-to-point range. This means that your message will get delivered even in difficult situations. It also means that the more people that join, the stronger the network and the larger the range will be.

The silicone loop allows you to easily secure it to your belt, or even a backpack. It is also completely weather and grime proof.

goTenna Mesh uses a 1-watt UHF radio to transmit and receive messages. It also comes with a flash memory that can store 100’s of messages. Furthermore, it is completely weatherproof and has a rechargeable Lithium-polymer battery that has a 24+ hour standby time. It also uses Bluetooth-LE (low energy) to wirelessly connect with your smartphone with extremely little battery usage.
