Going Traveling This Summer? How To Pack Smarter

You’ve started thinking about your summer plans, and you’ve decided that you would like to go traveling. You have always wanted to see more of the world, but until now, you have been scared to take the leap. Now that you’ve actually planned out and booked your trip, you couldn’t be any more excited and cannot wait until you step onto that plane.

However, while you’re excited about your extended trip, you may be feeling a little anxious and overwhelmed by the packing process. After all, you can’t take too much as you need to be able to get around easily, but what you don’t want to do is end up underpacking and being without an essential item while abroad.

Of course, there are shops abroad, so if you do forget anything there’s no need to panic. However, buying abroad can often mean spending more, or having to order and wait for an item to arrive. So, getting your packing list right before you go is probably going to be far easier. The question is, of course: how should you pack for your trip, and what are the essentials?

For a simple packing guide for taking an extended trip, have a read of—and take note of—the ideas below!

Beauty essentials

When it comes to packing light, it’s easy to miss out on a number of beauty essentials due to a lack of space. However, if you class a particular item as an ‘essential’ then it’s a mistake to head off abroad without it. Instead, it’s far better to get creative and find a way to ensure that you have all of your must-have beauty products on hand while you’re away.

Buying miniatures of your go-to items can be a good step to take. However, it’s important to consider whether they will last for the entirety of your trip, or whether you will need to replace them at one point or another while you’re away.

When it comes to make-up, think about what you will actually wear. A lot of people, when traveling, choose to swap to a more natural make-up routine. Think tinted moisturizer instead of foundation, mascara, eyeliner, and a lip tint. You don’t want to pack your entire make-up bag, as the chances are, you won’t use even half of it. However, you do want to have some make-up on hand, should you need it.

Clothing must-haves

With regards to clothing and shoes, it’s important to consider what you will actually wear as well as what will be comfortable to travel in. If you are traveling here, there, and everywhere, you want to ensure that you are comfortable in what you’re wearing. It’s a good idea to pack a mini capsule wardrobe, filled with basic items that work well in a number of combinations. This saves space, without compromising on style.

Say, for instance, you’ve packed two ankle-length skirts, you would benefit from shopping online at a wholesale fashion store such as Shirt Space and ordering two or three tank tops in varying colors to pair with them. You need to think about packing versatile items that work well when worn in a number of ways.

Luxuries you can go without

When it comes to your luxuries, it’s important to think about what you actually need. For instance, hair straighteners might be a must-have while at home, but how often are you actually going to use them while away?

These are just a few tips to help you pack efficiently and effectively for your extended travels this summer.
