THE GLASSHOUSE HOTEL | EDINBURGH
You would be hard-pressed to find a person who thinks that Edinburgh is not the most beautiful and exciting city in Scotland. Except for Glaswegians! If visiting Edinburgh has been a life-long dream of yours, as it has been for yours truly, there is a seductively stylish hotel to stay at. It is called The Glasshouse, and it is one of the hotels from the Autograph Collection.
The location of this five-star boutique hotel is nothing short of stunning. The Glasshouse is situated on Greenside Place, at the foot of Calton Hill, just behind the 150-year-old Lady Glenorchy Church. The hotel is a stone throw from The Playhouse Theatre which is one of Edinburgh’s most spirited areas lined with shops, restaurants and bars. It will take you only 15 minutes on foot to reach the city’s landmarks – the famous Edinburgh Castle, Scott Monument, and the National Gallery of Scotland.
You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to picking a room to stay in. There is the Deluxe Double Suite with floor to ceiling windows and views to die for, the Executive Double Suite with the view of the hotel’s rooftop garden, Studio Suites with king size beds and a complimentary dram of the Scottish whiskey (served in The Snug) or Deluxe Suites with a spacious terrace overlooking Calton Hill. The suites have plush bathrooms with Highland Aromatic toiletries and fluffy bathrobes, a WiFi connection, complimentary newspapers, an iPod docking station and Nespresso coffee machine.
One of the great experiences that the Glasshouse Hotel offers is certainly breakfast served at The Observatory from which you will be able to enjoy the view of Edinburgh’s National Heritage Sites. You can also enjoy your meals on your balcony with views of the city or your terrace which faces a huge rooftop garden.
Oh, there is one ‘small’ thing that we forgot to mention – The Glasshouse Hotel has been voted one of the Top 50 Hottest Hotels in the World by Condé Nast Traveler. watch video below
