CASA ANGELINA | PRAIANO AMALFI COAST, ITALY

People say to get the taste of real Italy you have to head south. Why not go to the dramatic and beautiful Amalfi coastline in Southern Italy, and, more specifically, a small high-end hotel called Casa Angelina?

All of the hotel’s 43 rooms are decorated in crisp all-white style, contrasted by hardwood floors, and unusual Murano glass sculptures. People who have stayed at Casa Angelina recommend one of the four Eaudesea Experience suites located in remodeled fishermen’s cottages above the La Gavitella beach.

The hotel also has a wonderful rooftop restaurant called ‘Un Piano nel Cielo’ (‘A Piano in Heaven’) which serves, among other things, outstanding lamb chops, braised gilthead bream with wild fennel and star anise, pancakes with wildberry sauce, and citrus-fruit risotto (the area is known for its lemons).

Although Casa Angelina doesn’t have a spa as such, there is a masseuse. You can book a relaxing massage between 11 am and 7 pm. If you don’t want to miss out on your Pilates or yoga classes, the hotel has a personal trainer at hand. There are also BodyBalance and AquaGym fitness classes to try.
