Today’s piece of great news for lovers of outdoor adventures is called BioLite BaseCamp. The advanced off-grid cooking and energy solution especially designed for camping trips, BaseCamp Stove by BioLite allows outdoor enthusiasts to cook their meals and charge electronic gadgets at the same time.
A smart eco-friendlier alternative to fossil-fueled stoves, wood-powered BaseCamp Stove features a thermoelectric generator that converts heat from the fire into electricity. The BaseCamp generator uses the heat of the burning wood to power a fan that blows air back into the burn chamber for improved combustion, while the surplus electricity is delivered to a USB port. In this way, the BaseCamp can produce some 5W of electricity, allowing you to charge your devices (such as smartphones, GPS, GoPro cameras, headlamps and even tablets) as you cook, grill and boil your food on your camping trips.
The BaseCamp is set on folding legs so you can easily adjust the cooking height, and it also has a flexible USB light that allows you to check the meal progress as it is being cooked. The portable stove also includes a LED indicator dashboard that lets you monitor the heat of the fire and optimize your device charging process. The BioLite team designed the powerpack to house a battery which allows you to charge your gadgets either while you’re preparing the food or at some time later on when it’s more convenient for you.
Smart, portable and easy to use, the BioLite BaseCamp is just the piece of equipment you should always have at hand when preparing for your next camping trip with your friends or organizing that long-promised backyard BBQ afternoon with neighbors. watch video below
