Aston Martin seems to be preparing us for something new and buying time in the process by introducing special edition models. But those models are all but trivial. After the N430, the wonderful revamp of the V8 Vantage which we have already presented, they choose to style up another legend – namely the DB9 – and present us with its Carbon Black and White Editions.
And these are both just amazing. The Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Black and White editions share all the lines of the standard DB9. They have large, protruding hood with headlights directing your view towards a stylish grille. Side view gives elegant feel with no prominent air intakes to spoil the elegance. Muscular wheel arches serve the visual purpose as much as they leave space for large wheels. The back is also familiar, stylishly toned down but never hiding this beast’s real nature.
And all this, however wonderful, has already been seen. But the new stuff makes the Carbon Black and White editions so special. The bodies of both models are made of aluminum, but you will find loads of carbon fiber as well. Side window trims are black in both versions, giving menacing look to the Carbon Black and adding stylish contrast to the White edition.
Brake calipers are available in numerous different colors to choose from. Their color will be matched by the stitching in the interior. Speaking of the interior, it is expectedly high class. Loads of high quality hand-stitched leather, carbon fiber and walnut wood make a stay inside one of these Aston Martin DB9s truly special.
Under the hood you will find the familiar 6l V12 with 380kW and 457 lb-ft of torque, which is paired up with the six-speed automatic transmission. This setup provides a top speed of 183mph and acceleration to 62mph in just 4.6 seconds.
Both of these Aston Martin DB9 renditions add even more style to the stunning standard version and there will undoubtedly be people interested to purchase these beasts. Prices are available upon request.
