Another perfect hotel by the Amanresorts International, the Amanjiwo, winner of many awards, is a perfect place for relaxation and enjoyment, not only because of its features and services, but also due to its location. Situated in Java, the world’s most populated island, Amanjiwo attracts tourists from all over the world and provides them with unforgettable experiences.
Surrounded by four volcanoes – Sumbing, Sundoro, Merbabu and Merapi, and built of limestone monolith in the natural amphitheater, Amanjiwo perfectly fits into the volcanic environment of this area. Apart from that, what makes the position of Amanjiwo so special is the closeness of Borobudur – the world’s largest Buddhist sanctuary.
The complex consists of 36 suites set around the main building – 10 Garden Suites, 10 Borobudur Suites, 7 Garden Pool Suites, 7 Borobudur Pool Suites and a DalemJiwo Suite. Each accommodation has a thatched-roof pavilion and a daybed, terrazzo flooring, high ceilings and a garden terrace, the access to which is enabled through the sliding glass doors. The interiors are also interesting – they contain coconut wood and rattan furniture, sungkai wood screens, central four-pillar beds, old batik pillows and traditional Yogyakarta’s glass paintings. The bathrooms are vast; their length is identical to the suites’, they include twin vanities and dressing areas, while bathtubs are placed outside in the garden.
Within the resort, there is an outdoor infinity swimming pool, made of limestone blocks, lined with green tiles and surrounded by rice paddies and banyan trees. Next to it is the Pool Club, so guests can treat themselves with light meals and drinks, while in the hotel’s Restaurant they can enjoy traditional Javanese specialties.
The Spa Center at Amanjiwo offers high quality massages, out of which we should single out the Pijat traditional massage. Also, different body treatments are at guests’ disposal, and they can choose the option they like better – massages and treatments in the privacy of their rooms or in the spa suite.
For the more active ones, the hotel offers fitness equipment in the Gym Suite, along with a personal trainer, and there is also a Tennis Center. Lovers of art can visit the hotel’s Art Gallery, and some quality time can also be spent in the Library, while in the Boutique different kinds of traditional Javanese jewelry, clothing, antiques and textiles can be found.
