Have the designers from XD Design gotten closer to solving mobile phone battery limitation problems by developing a Window Solar Phone Charger? Mobile devices have become an everyday occurrence. Their possibilities and significance have been growing daily and it’s not likely to stop any time soon.

However, the biggest problem with these devices is the fact that they have limited energy at their disposal. The development of batteries for mobile devices has not been able to keep pace with the advancements in energy requirements of these devices, so the guys from XD Design have moved in a different direction.

They have come up with a Window Solar Phone Charger that enables you to charge your phone using only solar energy. It is fairly small (4.3 x 4.3 x 0.68 inch) and light (3.35 oz), but it packs a 1,400mAh battery and a full size and mini USB port that can be used to charge up its own battery when there is not enough sun, or when it simply takes too long due to the fact that it is said to take about 13 hours to fully charge.

However, as with any other solar charger, the speed of a charge up depends on the quality of the sunlight, and the solar charge-up of the Window Charger has been known to take a lot longer. Still, having in mind that this is a free and clean energy source, there is no room for complaints. There is also a LED status light that tells you when it is fully charged.

But there is another design feature that makes this solar charger distinctive. Most other solar chargers are stationary or, alternatively movable, but you need to chase the sunlight around your room. Not with the Window Solar Phone Charger. You can actually stick it to your window and thus get the most out of the sun’s rays, without worrying about the shades that plants, objects, or furniture can create as the sun moves.

Additionally, the charger is solid and can take a bit of a beating if need be. It is beautifully minimalistic, thin and easy to use and, most importantly, it does what it is said to do.
