UMBRA FISHHOTEL AQUARIUM

$35

You know how people take good care of their cats and dogs, give them top quality food, fancy haircuts and clothes? Isn’t it about time that fish get five-star treatment too which, this time around, comes in the shape of a luxurious and spacious ‘home’ where they can swim to their heart’s content? If you agree with us, have a look at Umbra FishHotel, designed by Teddy Luong. Yes, this is a true fish hotel that is actually a stackable aquarium with a very contemporary feel to it.

Umbra FishHotel is a glass fishbowl that has a removable ABS plastic outer shell which resembles a modern hotel with asymmetrical windows. Not only does it look great, it is also quite practical since you can stack several FishHotels onto each other for a condo-like appearance. The aquarium’s outer shell is detachable and can be painted in any colour you desire, while its inner bowl is removable for easy cleaning. Each FishHotel weighs five pounds (2.26 kg) and its dimensions are 8 x 8 x 8″ (19 x 19 x 20cm).

Umbra FishHotel Aquarium

The aquarium also has enough space for a small biological filter, plants and figurines which you can fit in the corner. It can take up to a gallon of water and is perfect for betta fish. FishHotel doesn’t take long to clean and there is a decent amount of space for your fish to swim around in as long as you fill the aquarium to the top with the water. This neat fishbowl has received great reviews so far and is a winner of the 2010 Housewares Design Award.
