Sony’s camera called the NEX-3NL/B is one truly amazing product filled with great features in a compact package and for a great price.

The NEX-3NL/B has the 16.1MP Exmor APS-C HD CMOS sensor which provides clear images even in weaker light conditions and even without flash. It also includes the RGB primary color filters and the combination of these features enables you to take RAW, RAW+JPEG, 3D MPO and JPEG images of Standard, Fine and Extra Fine qualities. Even at ISO 16,000 you can get high-res low-noise images with the help of Chroma noise reduction while the BIONZ image processor allows up to 4 frames per second continuous shooting. The mentioned ISO ranges from 100-16,000 for photos and 100-3200 for videos.

The NEX-3NL/B has a 3-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 460,800 dots. It can also tilt up to 180 degrees which is a very useful feature. This gives you Histogram, 100% coverage, continuous Live View, Peaking with selectable High/Mid/Low/Off settings and White/Red/Yellow colors, Grid Display with several options – Rule of Thirds, Square Grid, Diagonal + Square Grid, Off, magnified display for playback, versatile customization options for grid, grid line and histogram, real-time image adjustment, and Auto and Manual brightness control in 5 steps which range between -2 and +2.

Recording a video will also leave you pleased. You can record a Full HD 1080i video at 60 fps and 24Mbps or 17Mbps, for example. Other options include recording in HD 1440 x 1080p at 30 fps and 12Mbps, or 640 x 480p at 30 fps and 3Mbps. These can be of the Blu Ray quality, or in MP4 format, while the sound can be recorded in Dolby Digital (AC-3) or MPEG-4 AAC-LC formats.

There are several autofocus modes – Single-shot AF(AF-S), Continuous AF(AF-C) and Auto Focus. Manual focus also exists and there is a Direct Manual Focus option that allows quick shift from auto to manual.

Your footage can be greatly influenced by pre-selecting one of six modes called the Standard, Vivid, Portrait, Landscape, Sunset or Black & White with Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness all with -3 to +3steps.
