Back in 1999, the BoomCase company was founded with a goal to build portable battery-powered speaker systems and they’ve been doing it ever since. Their latest product is the Signal Corps by BoomCase. This speaker system is made from a US Army Signal Corps Frequency Meter box. All BoomCases are handmade so each item is unique and slightly different from the other.

The Signal Corps by BoomCase features two full-range speakers that measure 4 inches in diameter, a 50-watt amplifier, as well as two vintage dome tweeters. The case is made from steel and it’s very compact. The dimensions of this boombox are 8″ x 10″ x 3″ and it weighs only 6 lbs. For easy carrying, you can opt for an additional shoulder strap ($40). The setup comes with rechargeable lithium batteries and a battery charger. You can also get a free battery meter.

The frequency response of the Signal Corps BoomCase is 70 Hz – 20,000 Hz while with the playtime of more than 18 hours on a single charge. This speaker system also comes with an audio cable and you can connect it to any device that has a headphone output, including your phone, tablet and computer. For a wireless experience, you can get Bluetooth connectivity if you’re willing to pay an additional $45.
