Ricoh has made a new and improved version of their 360° camera. If you liked the Theta digital camera, you’re going to love the Theta S.

The concept is the same as with the earlier version, but it’s delivered in a bigger, better package. The Theta S has kept the user-friendly interface and easy connectivity (with a dedicated app) of its older brother while getting some new advanced features.

The Theta S is slightly larger and heavier than its predecessor and there’s a good reason for that. The new camera supports full HD videos up to 25 minutes long (the previous version supported only 5 minutes) at 30 FPS. The Theta S has an internal memory of 8GB (twice as big as the original Theta) that is sufficient to store 1.600 images taken in max resolution (5376X2688) or 65 minutes of video material.

The Theta S has a Micro USB and HDMI ports

Another cool feature lets you set the shutter time manually (up to 60 seconds) extending the exposure for those incredible night sky panoramas. The battery life is also improved, which means even more pictures can be taken without recharging. And when you snap that perfect panorama, you can share it instantly on Google maps because the Theta S is compatible with the Google Street View app.
