Nixon’s The Mission | Android Smartwatch For Action Sports

Nixon announced the new ultra-rugged, action sports smartwatch called The Misson. This innovative watch is built on the latest technology from Google’s Android Wear and it will be available to customers later this year.

“Our audience leads an intense, outdoor lifestyle and pushes products to the limit. All of our watches have to meet a high standard of durability and water resistance and for many of these participants, a fragile smartwatch is useless,” said Tyson White, VP of Product at Nixon.

Nixon The Mission is water resistant up to 330 feet.

The case of this watch is made from tough polycarbonate and stainless steel and it has a custom dual-layer, silicone band. Its full-colour AMOLED display has a built-in microphone and is protected by Gorilla Glass. The Mission is water resistant up to 330 feet which is the highest waterproof rating of any smartwatch you can get nowadays. Nixon also announced that the Mission will have more benefits like long battery life and smart sensing.

This watch will start selling later this year.

Besides the Android Wear platform and apps, The Mission has its own app powered by Surfline and Snocountry that features custom activity-tracking. The app will have some cool features like updating you on weather conditions worldwide, for different sports. Customers will have an option to customize their watches through Nixon’s e-commerce platform. They will be able to choose case finishes, bezel and band colors. watch video below
