Grovemade Walnut Speakers
Grovemade is a company from Portland that specializes in creating really cool wooden items for our computers, phones, and desks. Together with an industrial designer Joey Roth, they came up with unique Walnut Speakers. Audio design has never been so elegant as with these wooden speakers.
With back-loaded horn design and 2 x 25W amplifier at 8 Ohms, Grovemade Walnut Speakers aren’t just good looking but quite powerful as well. The back-loaded horn design replaces digital signal processing and acoustically, the speakers are simplified down to its essentials.
Another thing this special design does is it reinforces the bass response, creating more powerful lows. Grovemade Walnut Speakers are made from American black walnut, stainless steel, vegetable tanned leather and have a natural cork base.
Each shell is CNC machined one at a time, assembled with epoxy and covered in two coats of oil. The leather masks stainless steel stands, providing a great fit for your desk or shelf. “The result is a piece that is timeless, elegant and wholly unique in character capable of delivering an acoustically rich sound.” said Grovemade co-founder Ken Tomita.
They have 2 RCA inputs so you can easily connect them to any audio device you wish. This environmentally friendly set of wooden speakers is considered luxurious not only because of its looks. They come at $600 but there’s also a maple version costing $500.
