FIFTY SHADES OF CHICKEN: A PARODY IN A COOKBOOK

$13.34

You definitely belong to one of these two groups of people – you either love the book “Fifty Shades of Grey” or you absolutely detest it. Still, this is one of those books that do not inspire indifference in people. As for us, all we are going to reveal is that we have found a book that you will absolutely adore, not only because it contains fifty mouth-watering chicken recipes, but because it spoofs “Fifty Shades of Grey” like nobody’s business. It is called Fifty Shades of Chicken: A Parody in a Cookbook and it is written by F.L. Fowler.

Just have a read of this and you’ll know you are in for not only a culinary, but also a humorous treat. “I want you to see this. Then you’ll know everything. It’s a cookbook,” he says and opens to some recipes, with color photos. “I want to prepare you, very much.” This isn’t just about getting me hot till my juices run clear, and then a little rest. There’s pulling, jerking, stuffing, trussing. Fifty preparations. He promises we’ll start out slow, with wine and a good oiling . . .” Oh, did we mention that the main character in the book is called Miss Chicken who finds herself at the mercy of a rich, sensual and very hungry chef?

Joking aside, Fifty Shades of Chicken provides you with fantastic recipes that are divided into three segments (or acts, as the author calls them) – “The Novice Bird” (full of easy recipes), “Falling to Pieces” (recipes for weeknight cooking) and “Advanced Techniques” (the apex of chicken recipes). 160 pages of wonderfully illustrated pages contain recipes for Baked Chicken with Apricot Jam, Sage, and Lemon Zest; Chicken Fingers with Brown Sugar and Bourbon; Roasted Chicken with Bacon and Sweet Paprika; or, excuse the recipe title, Pound Me Tender Chicken, to mention just a few.

Despite the lengthy titles, the recipes in Fifty Shades of Chicken are easy to follow both for novices and seasoned cooks. This cookbook is the perfect gift for chicken lovers and cooks with a succulent and naughty sense of humour.
