DRIVE A TANK

Drive A Tank is one of the most extreme adventures there are. Essentially, it is a holiday destination, but this one includes Driving a Tank, something you never would imagine yourself doing, other than in a video game.

So, if you are looking for a different kind of holiday or you are a tank fan, this is something you must not miss. Head to the wooded area in Kasota, Minnesota ASAP. It is a place where you can drive many armored vehicles, such as Vickers FV433 “Abbot” Self-propelled Gun (SPG), the GKN Sankey FV432 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), and of course the Russian-made T-55 Main Battle Tank (MBT).

There are four available packages with prices ranging from $199 to $3495. The first one is “Basic Training” and it sadly does not include driving the tanks, but you will be able to see them in action and fire a machine gun and you will be able to take a Humvee for a spin or be at the gunner’s position, which is not bad at all.

The next level is called “3 Star Lt. General”. The day begins with a safety training and a lecture about history of tanks and their uses. After that you will be off to the training grounds in a 5-ton troop transport. The training ground consists of a densely wooded course that will test the limits and skills both of you and the vehicle. The last step is firing an authentic STEN machine gun.

A bit more exciting package is the “4 Star General”. You can’t try this one alone, since it requires 3 persons. Great. Bring some friends and share the roles. The Commander, the Loader or the Driver in the Abbot. Which one will be your favorite? Also, you will be given an M4 and a STEN in full auto. The last, but not least is a .30 cal 1919 machine gun waiting for you.

The ultimate and the most extreme package is the “5 Star Commander in Chief”. Yes, it is as crazy as it sounds. It includes everything you ever wanted. The knowledge, the history, the instructions, the 5-ton truck ride to the front line and of course the dessert in a shape of a Russian T-55 Main Battle Tank.

If you are still hyped and want some more destruction, there always is an Extras feature. For the right price, you can achieve a single or a double car crash with your tank or even a mobile home destruction.

Yes, a holiday is usually used for relaxing in a quiet place, but driving a tank totally beats it and it is totally worth going back to work tired.
