CORVI CONCRETE WINE COOLER

There are a few things that any wine connoisseur simply has to have in their home to fully enjoy the bliss that comes with drinking fine wine. Apart from stylish glasses, a corkscrew and a quality decanter, your wine needs to be served just at the right temperature in order to get the best out of it. The general rule of thumb is that the temperature for storing red wine ranges from 52ºF – 65ºF (11°C – 18°C), and 45ºF- 50ºF (7°C – 10°C) for white wines. This is an elegant cooler, inspired by the simplicity of stone, with clean sharp edges, handcrafted from concrete. Corvi Cooler is the brainchild of industrial designer Francisco Corvi from Buenos Aires-based PPi3D Studio, and it is entirely handmade in the United States. The designer got the inspiration for this modern piece from his Argentine heritage. He explains: “In Argentina, wine is a symbol of high society. The wine cooler is a piece of me, my roots and my life.” This stylish and efficient cooler has been produced using an advanced casting method and, despite being made from concrete, it feels soft to the touch.

Although Corvi Cooler looks quite extravagant, it is actually very simple to use – put it in freezer for a few hours and it will remain chilled for quite a long time. Apart from being a functional tool for wine drinkers, the cooler is also a chic home décor object that can be placed on its sides and on its bottom. Also, the coolers can be stacked one of top of the other to make your own personal wine cellar.

The dimensions of Corvi Concrete Wine Cooler are 100 x 100 x 250mm (3 x 3 x 9.2 inches) and it weighs 1.7kg (3lb 12oz). [via]
