Modern day technology offers many ways to listen to music and to take it with you no matter where you go, but that sound quality can’t compare to the sound of the good old vinyl records. Audiophiles are demanding a better sound quality and portable MP3 players just don’t cut it. The BT-500 Turntable by Akai Professional offers uncompromised performance, analog-to-digital conversion and wireless streaming. This belt-drive turntable has a deck base with walnut finish and aluminum platter with a non-slip rubber on the top.

The mechanically isolated motor of the BT-500 Turntable eliminates noise and vibration. The drive system supports two speeds: 33 1/3 and 45 rpm with very low wow and flutter. The deck’s MDF base minimizes vibration while an integrated leveling bubble allows for precise placement. The heavy die-cast aluminum platter guarantees an excellent signal-to-noise ratio of 67dB while the rubber mat prevents slipping of the record. The lightweight tonearm has an adjustable counterweight to ensure precise tracking.

The BT-500 Turntable also features a high-quality pre-mounted Audio-Technica dual moving magnetic cartridge. The cartridge comes with elliptical stylus packed in a removable headshell for easy setup. In addition to this, you don’t have to spend extra money for an external pre-amp since you’ll get a phono pre-amp included in the package. This turntable also has a headphone jack and gold-plated RCA jacks. You’ll also receive a download card for format conversion software so you can connect your turntable to a computer via USB. That way you’ll be able to turn your analog records to digital files.

The switchable phono pre-amp allows you to use it with a stereo or connect it directly to the speakers. In addition to this, you can connect this device to any Bluetooth enabled speaker to stream the sound from your records. If you want supreme sound, the Bluetooth streaming probably isn’t the best solution, but it’s a convenient solution to share tunes using a small portable speaker.
