Just plug it in your vehicle and let the charging begin. When you finish charging just turn the charger off with the ON/OFF switch in order to completely shut off power to the unit and to be sure that no more power is being consumed. If at any point you want to stop the charging without turning off the charger completely, you can always do that via the STOP button that is located in the front.
