Luxury sports cars have it all- an outstanding performance and all the comfort and prestige you can get with a vehicle. Today we’re introducing you to three models, each packed with advanced technologies and features. Check out our top picks:
1 – Porsche 718 Boxster
Let us start with the redesigned 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster. Unlike the previous model that featured a six-cylinder engine, the 718 comes with a pair of turbocharged four-cylinders, considerably reducing fuel consumption. The base model has a 2.0-litre engine that can develop 220 kW (300 hp) at 6,500 rpm with the maximum torque of 380 Nm. Some of the new technologies aimed towards efficiency include an auto start/stop function that switches off when the speed falls below 7 km/h as well as the optional sports exhaust system.
This new Boxster is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed PDK. Speaking of optional features, the Porsche 718 Boxster can come with a PVT (Porsche Torque Vectoring) system that enhances stability and traction. Aluminum axle components provide agile handling and contribute to the overall weight of the car. More features include 18-inch alloy wheels, airbag and rollover protection systems, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime light.
As for the environment-friendly properties, this model has reduced emissions by approximately 14% when compared to the previous one. All materials used in the construction are 95% recoverable and the car runs on fuel with an ethanol content of up to 10%. The interior is equipped with ergonomic leather seats, 7-inch touchscreen display with a navigation system and plenty of other options to choose from.
2 – Jaguar F-Type 2017
The first thing we should mention about the Jaguar F-Type is that it’s available in two body styles- Coupé and Convertible, with each design focused around the driver. The basic model is packed with a powerful 221kW 4-cylinder 2.0 liter Turbocharged Ingenium Petrol engine that can go from 0‑100km/h in just 5.7 seconds and deliver a top speed of 250 km/h. The engine differs depending on the model within the series.
One of its most important features is the All Wheel Drive system that provides a stable ride on all road surfaces. Speaking of stability, we mustn’t forget the rigid aluminum chassis and the Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system. As for the exterior, the car comes with 18” to 20” alloy wheels, LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights, an aerodynamic performance and three roof choices for the Coupé styled model.
The interior of the 2017 F-Type is equipped with lightweight performance seats that offer optional cooling, a 3‑spoke steering wheel with plenty of driver oriented controls and an 8” color touchscreen display that offers configurable ambient lighting, giving you many options for personalization. Besides the display, more in-car technology options include a lane departure warning for increased safety along with the pedestrian contact sensing system and a parking assist.
3 – Lexus LC
The 2018 Lexus LC is a brand new luxury sports car available in LC 500 and a hybrid version- LC 500h. Its key features are the 5.0-liter V8 engine, one of the most powerful engines in the world. It can go from 0-60 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, showing off its 471 horsepower. Not to forget the 10-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission and a near perfect weight distribution.
Among many performances of Lexus LC, some of the most important ones are definitely the double-joint multi link suspension system, a high-performance braking system, manual drive mode, 21-inch forged alloy wheels, the most rigid Lexus chassis yet and a classy carbon fiber construction.
Foam injected seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel contribute to the overall comfort. The seat can be heated and ventilated. Also, the glass roof together with ambient lighting creates a unique atmosphere. The front 10.3-inch high-resolution split-screen display can be used for navigation and access to audio and climate controls. You can also connect it to your iPhone and get access to apps, email, music, contacts.
Finally, the safety features. The Lexus LC has a backup camera, a dynamic radar cruise control with automatic braking, blind spot monitor and parking assist. There’s also a useful pedestrian detection system as well as the lane departure alert and a 10 airbag system.
